Emergency Medical Responder
Safety Training
The Emergency Medical Responder ensures that employers have met OSHA's requirement to have emergency medical assistance promptly available when an injury occurs. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive BOTH a certification as an Emergency Medical Responder from the LA Bureau of EMS and a CPR Certification from American Heart Association!
Our EMR course is packed with hands-on practical exercises to ensure employees can efficiently provide the best possible medical assistance needed on the worksite! We provide the initial EMR course and a refresher EMR course that is required to be completed every 2 years.
EMR Initial Training Course
What will you learn?
Upon completion of Emergency Medical Responder training, the student will be familiar with:
Describe the roles and responsibilities, the scope of practice, and protecting the well-being of the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) within the Emergency Management System (EMS)
Explain appropriate knowledge of medical, legal, ethical and cultural issues in the provision of emergency care
Describe principles of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology in the provision of emergency care
Demonstrate the use of proper body mechanics when lifting and transporting patients
Describe the importance of proper communication in an EMS system. Describe proper communication and documentation techniques in the provision of emergency care
Demonstrate accurate skills in the assessment of patient history and vital signs
Apply knowledge of general pharmacology in the provision of emergency care
Explain proper techniques of resuscitation, maintaining an open airway, suctioning, and administration of oxygen including CPR
Emr refresher Training Course
An EMR refresher training course is required every 2 years. This course must be taken prior to the September 30th deadline. If the student has not completed an EMR Refresher by September 30th, they will need to complete an EMR Initial course to recertify their EMR.

Upon completion of the course, all students are issued a physical and digital certificate with their name, company name, and completed course.
Compliance Management
All students can be tested and have their progress tracked in our Online Learning Management System, with reminders for annual refreshers.
